چکیده

Calcium leaching from cementitious materials in contact with bentonite nuclear waste repositories can alter the functionality of an engineered barrier system. In this study, we contribute to fundamental understanding calcite precipitation at cement–bentonite interfaces by adding carbonate bentonite. addition, accelerate transport charged reactants towards interface using electrochemical migration method. The admixture successfully promotes surface cement paste. analysis also revealed that amount precipitated is not simply correlated added or applied electrical potential. Experiments which pore water contains high initial contents exhibit rapid a very narrow region interface, resulting clogging. extremal region detection guided by maxima of gradient magnitude

a problem of computer vision applications is to detect regions of interest under dif- ferent imaging conditions. the state-of-the-art maximally stable extremal regions (mser) detects affine covariant regions by applying all possible thresholds on the input image, and through three main steps including: 1) making a component tree of extremal regions’ evolution (enumeration), 2) obtaining region ...

Atomic modifications by synchrotron radiation at the calcite-ethanol interface.

This article reports on studies of the chemical alterations induced by synchrotron radiation at the calcite-ethanol interface, a simple model system for interfaces between minerals and more complex organic molecules containing OH groups. A combination of X-ray reflectivity and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of natural calcite, cleaved in distilled ethanol to obtain new clean interfaces, indic...

Microbially induced calcite precipitation-based sequestration of strontium by Sporosarcina pasteurii WJ-2.

Contamination by radioactive strontium ((90)Sr) is a significant environmental problem. Ureolytically driven calcium carbonate precipitation has been proposed for use in geotechnical engineering for soil remediation applications. In this study, 68 ureolytic bacterial strains were newly isolated from various environments. Of these, 19 strains were selected based on ureolytic activity shown when ...
